# How event passes work for guest entry

> Learn how Rekkeh event passes are distributed to guests, when they allow entry, and how to revoke an invite link or an individual pass.

Event passes are guest authorizations tied to a specific event in Rekkeh. They are managed from the Events section of the admin portal, and they only work while the event is active and within its scheduled time window.

## Where event access is managed

Event passes are created and managed from the **Events** page in the admin portal. When you create an event, you can choose whether guests get **Multi-entry** or **Single-entry** access:

* **Multi-entry:** Guests can enter and leave multiple times during the event window.
* **Single-entry:** Guests can enter once. After they check in, the pass is consumed.

## How guests get passes

You can distribute event passes to guests in three ways:

1. **Bulk upload:** Upload a list of guest names and phone numbers. Rekkeh generates a pass for each guest and sends it automatically.
2. **Invite link:** Generate a shareable link that guests can use to register themselves. Each registration creates a new pass.
3. **Manual creation:** Add individual guests one at a time from the event page.

## What guests receive

Each guest receives a message with a QR code and an OTP fallback code, just like a standard visitor pass. They do not need the Rekkeh app.

## When a pass allows entry

An event pass only allows entry when two conditions are met:

1. The event status is **active**
2. The current time is within the event's scheduled window

If the event has not started or has already ended, the pass will be rejected at the gate.

## Revoking event access

You can revoke access at two levels:

**Revoke the invite link:** This stops new guests from registering through the link. Existing passes already issued remain valid until the event ends or you revoke them individually.

**Revoke an individual event pass:** Find the guest in the event attendee list and select **Revoke pass**. This invalidates that guest's QR and OTP immediately.

<Warning>
  If a guest is already inside when their pass is revoked, the pass becomes exit-only. They can leave, but they cannot re-enter.
</Warning>
