# How residents invite visitors in Rekkeh

> Learn how residents create visitor invites in the Rekkeh app, share passes via SMS or WhatsApp, and manage or revoke invites before they are used.

Residents can invite guests directly from the Rekkeh Resident app without needing to contact the admin or gate staff. The process takes a few taps, and the guest receives everything they need to check in at the gate.

## Create a visitor invite

Open the Resident app and select the option to invite a visitor. Fill in the required fields, which typically include the guest name and phone number. Choose a duration for the visit from the available options: **2 hours, 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours,** or a custom window.

  The guest phone number is required so Rekkeh can send the pass directly to their device.

## Share the pass

After you create the invite, Rekkeh generates a pass containing a QR code and an OTP fallback code. You can share this pass with your guest through:

* **SMS**
* **WhatsApp**
* **Any other share method** available on your device

The guest receives the pass as a message and does not need to install the Rekkeh app.

## Manage or revoke the invite

You can view all your active invites in the Resident app. To cancel a visit before it happens, find the invite and select the revoke option. This immediately invalidates the QR code and OTP, so the guest will not be able to check in.

  Once revoked, the invite cannot be reactivated. You must create a new invite if the guest still needs to visit.
