# What happens when a Rekkeh pass is revoked

> Learn how revoking visitor invites, contractor access, and event passes works in Rekkeh, and what happens to visitors already inside.

Revoking a pass immediately invalidates it at the gate. The action is audited, and in most cases a reason is required. You can revoke passes from the Resident app, the admin portal, or the Gate Ops app, depending on your role and the pass type.

## Revoke a visitor invite

**As a resident:** Open the Resident app, find the active visitor invite, and select the revoke option. The pass is canceled immediately and the guest can no longer use the QR or OTP.

**As an admin:** In the admin portal, locate the visitor pass, select **Revoke**, and enter a reason. The reason is required and must be between 5 and 1000 characters.

## Revoke contractor access

Admins can revoke contractor access from the **Contractors** page in the admin portal. Find the contractor profile, open the active authorization, and select **Revoke**. The contractor's credentials stop working immediately.

## Revoke event access

You can revoke event passes at two levels:

**Revoke the invite link:** This prevents new guests from registering through the link. Existing passes already issued remain valid until revoked individually or the event ends.

**Revoke an individual event pass:** Find the guest in the event attendee list and select **Revoke pass**. This invalidates that guest's QR and OTP.

## Visitors already inside

If a visitor or contractor is already on the premises when their pass is revoked, they are not forced out. Instead, their pass changes to **exit-only**: they can check out through the gate, but they cannot re-enter using the same pass.

<Warning>
  Revocation is immediate and cannot be undone. If you revoke by mistake, you must create a new pass or invite.
