# Configure Rekkeh Visitor Badge Printing at Your Facility

> Configure Rekkeh visitor badge printing for your facility. Choose printing modes, templates, badge messages, reprint rules, and colour-coded visitor types.

Rekkeh can print visitor badges automatically after kiosk check-in or on demand at a reception desk. Badge settings are managed at the facility level under **Settings > Visitor badge printing**.

## Open the badge settings

## Choose a printing mode

Select the mode that matches how your facility handles badges:

| Mode                           | Description                                                                   |
| ------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Disabled**                   | No badges are generated or printed.                                           |
| **Kiosk printing**             | Badges print automatically from the kiosk after successful check-in.          |
| **Reception / Admin printing** | Badges are generated but printed by staff from the admin dashboard.           |
| **Manual badge**               | Badges are generated for presentation on screen; no physical print is queued. |

## Badge validity and reprint options

* Enable **Auto-print after successful check-in** to queue a print job immediately when registration completes.
* Enable **Allow badge reprint** so guards or reception staff can reprint a badge later from the visitor record.

## Set badge messages

Enter custom text for the badge header and footer. These messages appear on every printed badge for your facility.

## Choose a badge template

Select the layout that matches the visitor type:

| Template                     | Best for                                              |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| **Standard Visitor**         | General-purpose visitor badges.                       |
| **Contractor / Vendor**      | Contractors, delivery drivers, and service providers. |
| **Guest / Resident Visitor** | Personal guests and resident-invited visitors.        |

## Colour-code visitor types

You can assign a badge colour to each visitor category. Built-in categories include **Visitor**, **Contractor**, **Guest**, and **Staff**. Enter a 3- or 6-digit hex colour (for example, `#1D4ED8`) and select **Save** for each row.

## Save your settings

Select **Save settings** to apply the facility-level badge configuration. A confirmation reads "Badge printing settings saved".

## Facility settings vs. the kiosk's Badge printing enabled toggle

Facility-level badge settings and the per-gate kiosk toggle are separate. The kiosk modal's **Badge printing enabled** checkbox (in **Gates > Kiosk**) tells that specific kiosk to present badge printing as an available capability. It does not select a printing mode or enable badge generation on its own; the facility-level **Printing mode** and its switches control whether badges are generated and printed.

## When automatic printing happens

A badge is attempted after a kiosk registration produces an issued result, and a badge is saved even when automatic printing is off. A print job is queued only when **Auto-print after successful check-in** is enabled *and* the printing mode is **Kiosk printing** or **Reception / Admin printing**. A badge-generation failure does not block visitor registration; it is logged and returns no badge. On the kiosk pass screen, visitors see "Your visitor badge is printing", then "Please collect your badge", with a **Print badge** button and a **Done** button to finish.
