# Troubleshoot Rekkeh Kiosk Pairing and Badge Printing

> Fix common Rekkeh kiosk and badge printing problems. Diagnose pairing failures, expired codes, revoked tablets, settings issues, and printer errors.

Fix the most common problems when a kiosk will not pair, will not proceed, or will not print a badge. Match your symptom below; each one has a verified cause and fix.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The kiosk never starts or won't proceed">
    **Cause:** Kiosk mode is disabled for the gate, or estate-level kiosk walk-ins are blocked.

    **Fix:** Open **Gates** in the dashboard, select **Kiosk** for the gate, and enable **Enable kiosk mode for this gate**, then select **Save settings**. Make sure the estate-level walk-in policy is saved as well.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The kiosk ignores settings changes">
    **Cause:** Settings were not saved after being changed. Opening the kiosk URL does not persist configuration.

    **Fix:** Return to **Gates > Kiosk** for the gate, confirm the values are correct, and select **Save settings**. Refresh the kiosk tablet after saving.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Pairing code expired">
    **Cause:** Pairing codes expire after 15 minutes.

    **Fix:** In the admin modal, select **Generate pairing code** again to create a fresh code. Enter the new code on the tablet and select **Pair kiosk**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Tablet revoked">
    **Cause:** The device was revoked from the device health list, or a new pairing code was generated which cleared pending codes.

    **Fix:** If the device shows **Revoked** in **Gates > Kiosk**, you must pair it again. Generate a new pairing code, enter it on the tablet, and select **Pair kiosk**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Badge won't print">
    **Cause:** The facility-level printing mode is **Disabled** or **Manual badge**, or **Auto-print after successful check-in** is turned off. The kiosk's **Badge printing enabled** toggle alone does not queue print jobs.

    **Fix:** Open **Settings > Visitor badge printing** and set the **Printing mode** to **Kiosk printing** or **Reception / Admin printing**. Enable **Auto-print after successful check-in**, then select **Save settings**. Also confirm that **Badge printing enabled** is turned on in **Gates > Kiosk** for that gate.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Badge can't be reprinted">
    **Cause:** Reprinting is disabled at the facility level, or the kiosk's **Allow kiosk badge reprint** toggle is off.

    **Fix:** Open **Settings > Visitor badge printing** and enable **Allow badge reprint**. Then open **Gates > Kiosk** for the gate and enable **Allow kiosk badge reprint**, then select **Save settings**.
