# Run an Accountability Check in Rekkeh

> Learn how to start, monitor, and close an accountability check in Rekkeh, including what recipients see and how to export results.

An accountability check is a roll call broadcast in Rekkeh used to confirm that staff, residents, or members are safe during or after an emergency. When you initiate a check, Rekkeh sends a message to selected recipients and collects their responses in real time. Administrators can monitor results, view building breakdowns, and export a report.

  <Step title="Open the Accountability page">
    In the Estate Admin dashboard, go to **Security > Accountability**. This is where you view past checks and start new ones.

  <Step title="Start a new check">
    Tap or click **Start Accountability Check**. Choose the emergency type that triggered the check, or select a general drill mode.

  <Step title="Choose recipients">
    Select who should receive the broadcast:

    * **On-site only**: Sends to members whose last known location is on the premises.
    * **All members**: Sends to every member in the directory regardless of location.

  <Step title="Set the audience, title, and message">
    Enter a clear title and a short message. Recipients see this first, so it should explain what they need to do (for example, "Tap Safe if you are unharmed").

  <Step title="Add instructions">
    Provide specific instructions such as where to assemble, how to report injuries, or who to contact next.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview and send">
    Review the **Preview count** to confirm how many people will receive the broadcast. When ready, tap **Send broadcast** to distribute the message.

## Monitor responses

Once the broadcast is sent, Rekkeh updates in real time with several views:

### Metric cards

The Accountability page shows **5 metric cards** at a glance:

1. **Total sent** / **Target recipients**
2. **Safe** / **Acknowledged**
3. **Need Help**
4. **No Response**
5. **Response rate**

### Need Help queue

Anyone who responds with a distress signal or does not mark themselves safe appears in the **Need Help** queue. Admins can prioritize this list and assign responders directly.

### Building breakdown

If your facility has building data configured, Rekkeh groups responses by building or zone. This helps you see where people may still need assistance.

### Timeline

The **Timeline** shows every event in order: when the check started, when each recipient responded, and any status changes. Use this to reconstruct the response sequence after the event.

## Close or export a check

When the situation is under control, choose one of the following actions:

| Action            | Result                                                                  |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Mark resolved** | Closes the active check and archives the results                        |
| **Cancel**        | Aborts the check without archiving (useful for drills and false alarms) |
| **Export CSV**    | Downloads a spreadsheet of all responses, timestamps, and notes         |
| **Export PDF**    | Downloads a formatted report for compliance or handover                 |

  Only users with the appropriate security role in the Estate Admin dashboard can mark a check resolved or cancel it.

## What recipients see

When someone receives an accountability check, they get a push notification and an in-app message with:

* The **title** and **message** you entered
* A **Safe** button to confirm they are unharmed
* A **Need Help** option to request assistance
* The **instructions** you provided

Recipients can respond once. Admins see the result immediately in the live dashboard.

  Run periodic drills using the accountability check feature so members know how to respond quickly during a real emergency.
