You verify a visitor or access pass in Gate Ops using one of four methods: QR scan, manual search, OTP code, or NFC card. You must select the gate you are operating from before you can verify any pass.
Gate Ops roles are guard, security, estate manager, and super admin. Residents use the Resident app; managers use the admin portal. Create visitor invites in advance through getting-started/create-visitor-invite.

Select your gate

You must select a gate before scanning, searching, verifying OTP, verifying NFC, or logging access.
  • If no gate is selected, the app shows Select a gate and routes you to the gate-selection screen
  • Choose your gate and tap Start Shift at {gate name}
  • Without a selected gate, each verification method shows a gate-selection prompt instead

Scan a QR pass

1

Open the scanner

Tap Scan Pass on the Gate Ops home screen.
2

Align the QR code

Hold the visitor’s QR code within the camera frame. The screen shows READY TO SCAN and the prompt “Align QR within frame.”
3

Hold steady

Keep the QR code steady until the scan completes automatically.

Use OTP codes when the visitor’s QR code is damaged, the camera fails, or the phone screen is unreadable. Residents can share visitor invites that include fallback codes through access-passes/how-visitor-passes-work.
